Help - Logging in to BOSS

Remember me

If you check this box then your customer code and username (but not your password) will be saved in a 'cookie' (a small file) on your computer. You must have 'cookies' enabled in your browser settings to use this. Since your password is still required to log in, it is safe to use this function even if other people have access to your computer. If other people regularly use this computer, however, it is best to clear this checkbox.

NB: checking this box means that you will stay logged in to BOSS for the rest of the day, even if you close your browser window, unless you click on 'Log Out' from the BOSS menu. This is to save you from having to enter your password more than once a day but you must remember to log out if you leave your computer unattended. If you do not check the box, you can end your session just by closing the browser window.

Secure or non-secure mode

By default BOSS uses up to 256-bit security to encrypt all communications between our server and your computer. Most browsers are able to support this security protocol. You may click this link to verify our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) up to 256-bit certification:

If your browser does not support the SSL protocol then you should switch to non-secure mode by clicking on the link below the 'enter' button.

IP Authentication

Click here to learn about an alternative way of logging in based on your IP address, designed for libraries with many users.
